Crew on Board
On board, you will find a professional and friendly crew, always ready to assist you.
Typical crew composition:
-
Captain
-
Onboard cook
-
One or two sailors (depending on the size of the gulet)
For cruises departing from Bodrum, Fethiye, or Marmaris, the crew is usually Turkish, while gulets departing from Syros, the Sporades, or the Ionian Islands generally have a Greek crew.
Turkish crews usually speak basic English, with at least one person fluent enough for communication. Greek crews generally speak English and another language.
In any case, communication on board is always easy, relaxed, and effective.
Sailing Itinerary
Published itineraries are indicative. Routes may vary due to:
-
Weather conditions
-
Maritime traffic
-
Port authority decisions
Your captain always does his best to follow the program, but if the sea gets rough or the wind picks up, he adjusts the itinerary to keep everyone safe and comfortable on board.
His decisions are final and do not entitle guests to a refund.
Boarding and Disembarkation
-
Boarding: from 16:30 onwards on the first day (unless otherwise stated).
The first night may be spent in the port of departure. -
Navigation: begins the following morning. On average, you’ll sail 3–4 hours per day.
Gulets usually moor at public harbors in tourist ports rather than in private marinas.
The crew shares the exact mooring location the day before or on the morning of embarkation.
Make sure you provide an active mobile number so the team can easily reach you during your trip.
-
Return: the afternoon before disembarkation
-
Disembarkation: on the last day by 10:00 a.m.
Luggage can remain on board until your departure.
During boarding, our staff will provide all relevant gulet information for your holiday.
Cleaning and Maintenance
The crew cleans the common areas and cabins every day.
They empty the bins and clean the bathrooms in the cabins on alternate days.
Guests make their own beds, keeping their space just the way they like it.
On embarkation day, it is normal to see the gulet loading provisions, laundry, or supplies even after 16:00 — these are simply the final preparations for your week at sea.
Smoking Policy
Smoking is permitted only in outdoor areas and with respect for other guests.
>Smoking is strictly forbidden inside the cabins, as gulets are built of wood — safety comes first.
Please note that anti-smoking laws apply to all indoor public areas in both Turkey and Greece.
Electricity & Wi-Fi
There is continuous 12–24 volt power on board.
220-volt electricity is available when the generator is running, usually for a few hours per day. The captain will inform you of the exact times, so you can recharge phones, tablets, and other devices.
Low-voltage lighting is always available. You can’t always use hair dryers or electric shavers unless the gulet has an inverter, which provides 220 volts throughout the day.
All sockets follow the European standard.
The Wi-Fi connection varies by gulet — some cruises include it, while others may not offer the service on board.
If you are sailing in Greece, you can use your own mobile data plan as you would in Italy or the EU.
Insurance
All gulets are insured for damage and collision.
However, we strongly recommend taking out a personal travel insurance policy to cover medical or accident-related issues during your holiday.
Extra Expenses on Board
In the cabin charter formula, guests buy their beverages directly at the onboard bar unless otherwise specified.
The crew displays a price list in the lounge and updates each cabin’s account daily.
Guests settle their bar tab in cash before disembarkation.
Average bar prices:
-
Water: €1
-
Coffee: €1.50
-
Soft drinks & juices: €3.00–€4.00
-
Beer: €6
-
Cocktails & aperitifs: from €8.00
-
Wine bottle: from €19
It is not permitted to bring drinks from outside on board.
(Tea and coffee are included at breakfast and during afternoon “tea time.” At all other times, they are available for purchase.)
Tipping
In both Turkey and Greece, guests customarily leave a tip, and the crew greatly appreciates it.
At the end of the cruise, you give your tip to the captain, and he shares it among the crew members.
You decide the amount, but most guests tip between 5% and 10% of the cruise price per person.
Dining on Board
Gulet cruises include half board or full board (depending on the program), plus the afternoon tea time.
On Greek island cruises, guests enjoy the freedom to dine ashore in local tavernas, as dinners are not included.
The onboard chef prepares every meal fresh each day and serves it outdoors at the aft dining table, creating a relaxed and authentic dining experience.
Typical mealtimes:
-
Breakfast: 08:30
-
Lunch: 13:00
-
Dinner: 20:30
The cuisine is simple, fresh, and flavorful, featuring traditional Turkish and Greek dishes, highly appreciated by our guests.
In the cabin charter formula, the menu is fixed; therefore, if you have any food allergies, intolerances, or dietary needs, please inform us at the time of booking.
