On Lipsi nobody is in a hurry and you can do everything with great calm. When evening comes streets of the village get animated while locals and tourists gather in front of a glass of ouzo or a plate of calamari. Lipsi, called also the Jewell of the Dodecanese is an archipelago of islands located in the south-eastern Aegean, between the islands of Leros and Patmos and takes its name from the largest island Lipsi or Lipsos.

With an area of 16 square km and 36 km of coastline, the island of Lipsi and very easy to cross on foot,  trekking or recreative walks are very popular here. Lipsi is the only island of the archipelago to be inhabited, while all the others as the beautiful Aspronisi, Kalapodia, Franco, Plavi and another twenty more, are extremely small, uninhabited, ideal for a boat trip.

Lipsi has only one village inhabited by 700 people where are concentrated all the tourist facilities. Those who choose Lipsi for holiday want to find the simplicity of everyday life and to spend days by the sea and sun of this little paradise. No resort, no great hotels in all-inclusive mega pools and entertainment, but small family bussineses, rent rooms and lots of sea!

The men are almost all fishermen and sailors who spend their days at the port  preparing their nets. Among the people there are many farmers being Lipsi full of olive trees and vineyards. The busiest part of the tourist season lasts only from mid July to end of August. The best period to visit Lipsi is early June or September.

The Sun is one of the most appreciated charateristics of the island; from April to November the island of Lipsi offers a Mediterranean climate  that gives you the chance to enjoy the sea and sun. Throughout this period, the weather is always sunny and caressed by the Meltemi that  make more pleasant even at the high temperatures of the high season.
